Pisces Season Overview
We are now near to the end of Pisces season (February 18th - March 20th), rule predominantly by Neptune in Hellenistic Astrology - the mystical mermaid of the sea (well thats how I see Pisces anyhow). A sign of heightened intuition, compassion for all, and creative flow, bringing empathy and a bounty of an imagination.
Pisces people invite us to tune inward and connect with our inner guidance, and one way of noticing a Pisces or someone with heavy Piscean traits, is that you feel safe enough to tell them all your problems even if you've just met them.
The shadow side of this sign, is escapism, emotional overwhelm, indecisiveness, and lack of boundaries.
So this season encourages us to consciously channel both the gifts and challenges of Pisces, using its energy for creativity, emotional sensitivity, and spiritual awakening.
Neptune - The Ruler
Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, carries both illusions and geniusness. It can lead to escapism, unhealthy addictive behaviours, and blurred boundaries if ungrounded. Yet, when consciously channeled, Neptune opens the door to profound artisticness, spiritual connection, and emotional clarity. It can life into a point of observance rather than merging so deeply that one looses oneself in others problems. The key here is to know and understand Pisces compassionate and empathetic tendencies, then root them in present - observing feelings, thoughts, and visions, without absorbing others or taking on/wanting to take away others emotions.
Neptune thrives when yours and theirs are clear. Setting personal boundaries protects your energy, allowing personal growth without overwhelm. So ground yourself with journaling, artist pursuits, meditation, or mindful movement. When you feel heavy, resist running away and go tap into your emotions, reflect, notice why you do the things you do and if they are reactive, protective or healthy?
Strong divisions transform Neptune’s fluid, illusionary and merging energy into clarity, inspiration, and focused intuition/discipline.
Pisces season invites a depth of creative freedom and expression, and helps us to embody the feminine. This is a time to explore movement, art, writing, meditation, or musical skills. Listen to your body, your cycles, and your inner voice. When you allow yourself to move and feel freely, not clinging to others expectations of you, inspiration can flow naturally and your natural wisdom blooms.
Personally, with a Pisces stellium in my chart, it gives me time to really understand this side of me more. I have tapped into the artistic side by writing a poem everyday for the last few weeks - no structure, just writing from a one word prompt. Some days it’s a line from a dream, a cathartic mess, other days a vivid memory, a fleeting encounter or unfulfilled desire. It’s a way to channel Neptune’s vast, imaginative currents that guide me, while expressing my natural feelings of not really belonging to this world (my head is up in the clouds with the angels most of the time - crown chakra pritty open). It gives me a chance to ground those feelings into this world. Even if they don't make any sense to others.
As a side note, with today being Mothers Day in UK, Pisces season also calls us to honour our Ceres asteroid (the way we nurture) , the mother figure and our maternal energy - however that may express itself. This could be towards your biological mother, a maternal figure, your own inner mother and nurturing tendencies. So tap into that quality and notice how it makes you feel - zooming in strengthens your connection to the feminine and deepens emotional awareness - which is all very Piscean
Neptune & AstroCartography
Pisces and Neptune influence life navigation and inner mapping in AstroCartography, as do every planet. Where ever Neptune lines on the world map for you, there will be a 500-700 mile influence either side of that line and a more positive effect on the west of the line. A reminder, if you relocate, your chart will move unlike your astrology chart that never changes.
The direction of the Neptune line - AC, DC, IC and MC will effect the projection of influence. AC focusing on the self, DC focusing on others, IC focusing on the home and MC focusing on your career.
If you have created the right healthy boundaries and discipled action in the area Neptune sits for you; for instance, you aren't escaping when things get tough or finding unhealthy coping mechanisms, then sitting near or living near this line will offer a place for you to tap into your intuition and connect with spirit - including your soul spirit more. If not, the opposite will be apparent and it can be a very destabilising time.
Thats why I don't do Astrology and AstroCartography charts separately, as without the astrology chart reading, I cant give you an accurate overview of which part of your life each planet is effecting and why.
So to sum up this season in a poetically Piscean fashion:
“Do not escape the heaviness of life; feel it, channel it, and transform it into the art from your soul. ”
Give time to embrace creativity, honour the feminine, navigate Neptune’s illusions, and focus the ups and downs of our inner world with healthy outlets.
Set boundaries, and listening deeply, rather than taking action and running, so that this period can become a powerful time of spiritual growth, artistic inspiration, and soulful alignment.
