New Moon In Pisces
Today feels like such a powerful energetic portal. We have the New Moon in Pisces tonight (GMT) just before we move into the Spring Equinox at the weekend. A closing of one big major astrological and seasonal chapter, before moving into the next brighter one.
Pisces, being the final sign of the zodiac, asks us to slow down, soften, and really feel what’s ready to be released. This isn’t about pushing forward just yet, it’s about surrendering, listening to your inne voice (the one thats a little quieter) and allowing things to gently disperse as needed ... Now I understand why I saw two slugs come through the front door the other day towards me - a gentle slimy reminder.
You may have noticed some heightened sensitivity, a deeper connection to your inner world, more vivid dreams, emotions resurfacing that you thought had been cleared. It’s a moment to dissolve tension, attachments, addictive habits, clutter, debris —emotionally, energetically, spiritually—so that when the Sun moves into Aries and the astrological new year begins, you’re not carrying that with you into the light of Spring and the momentum of Aries go getting fire.
This New Moon is preparing you. It’s creating the space for your next chapter, your next intention, your next version of self. So instead of rushing, honour what may seem like a washing machine - it has to come up to clear, so you and it can move forward with more alignment.
Spring Equinox
The Spring Equinox is one of those moments in the year where nature finds realignment too. Scientifically, it happens when the Sun moves directly above the Earth’s equator, meaning day and night are almost equal in length across the planet.
The word “equinox” literally means equal night, and you can feel that energy—not just in the sky, but within yourself too, if you are listening in. It’s a major reset point. A moment where everything feels like it’s recalibrating, the pieces of the puzzle are all trying to find their proposed space, before moving forward together, hopefully unfragmented.
Northern Hemisphere: The Shift Into Spring
If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, this is the beginning of Spring. The light is returning, the days are getting longer, the daffodils and snow drops are out, and you can start to feel that gentle build of energy again. The air feels fertile.
After the stillness, retreat and reflection of winter, things begin to open. Plants start to grow, the air feels softer, and there’s a quiet sense of renewal and emergence moving through everything.
This is why the Spring Equinox has always been seen as a time of rebirth and new beginnings. Your body, your energy, and your environment are all shifting together, so tune in and embrace the beautiful collective shift.
Southern Hemisphere: Autumn Begins
At the same time, the Southern Hemisphere is moving into autumn, slowly transitioning toward winter.
The days begin to shorten and nature starts to turn inward. It’s a reminder that while one part of the world is beginning, another is letting go.
There’s something really grounding in that—knowing that life is always moving in cycles, always finding balance somewhere on Earth. Even when not all humans are aligned with it, behind the curtains the elements of earth move in peace and harmony for the benefit of all.
Astrology & the Equinox
Astrologically, this moment is as powerful. The Spring Equinox marks the Sun entering Aries, the very first sign of the zodiac, and the beginning of a brand new astrological year.
What I love about this moment is that it holds both balance and movement. The equinox itself is equal light and shadow, which is such a reminder that we carry both within us too. Every zodiac sign has its light and its shadow, its strengths and its challenges—and this is a time to acknowledge all of it, not just the polished parts or the ones we are happy to put on display.
As we move into Aries energy, there’s more clarity, more direction, more truth, more forward movement. It’s like the spark is lit again. And with Saturn and Neptune also aligned with the Sun it creates disclipline, strategy, consideration without illusion or confusion.
You don’t need to have everything figured out—you just need to be willing to begin, just like the light of Aries.
Of course, dependant on where Aries sits in your chart and how it is in harmony or affliction will create a unique dynamic to this unified shift.
Creating an Equinox Altar
This is such a beautiful time to create a simple altar or ritual space. Not from a place of pressure, but as a way to reconnect in - with nature, the season, and with yourself.
You can include things like fresh flowers, seeds, candles, water, or anything from the earth that feels meaningful to you. These small elements carry a lot of energy when they’re chosen with intention.
You might feel called to honour deities connected to spring, fertility, or the Sun—but what feels most important here is honouring the Earth itself.
Simple offerings are enough:
Pouring water into the soil
Leaving herbs or flowers outside
Saying a quiet thank you in prayer
Putting your crystals out for a moon bath and maybe even planting one in the ground
Setting Intentions & Practising Gratitude
This is one of the most powerful times of year to set intentions. Everything in nature is beginning again, and you’re part of that cycle too.
It’s a moment to gently ask yourself:
What do I want to grow?
What am I ready to move towards?
But just as important as intention is gratitude.
Before calling in more, take a moment to recognise what’s already here. What you’ve moved through. What you’ve created. What’s quietly supporting you.
Gratitude shifts your energy into abundance—and from that place, your intentions seed very differently.
There’s something really calming about this time of year as everything is unfolding in its own timing.
The light is returning naturally and in its own time. And you’re allowed to move in that exact same way.
Because, its natural.
