Messages From Above
I have always believed in higher realms but my connection with them only came the more I did yoga and meditation.
Before, what I would call my spiritual awakening, I would see spiders frequently and ladybugs would land on me. Nowadays a plethora of insect and animal encounters happen to me regularly. Especially after a deep meditation, a challenging time, or if I need clarification.
My theory behind why I was seeing spiders frequently beforehand was because I was terrified of them, and I believe this was the universes way of trying to move me away from this fear and understand that some things are conditioned into us, but aren’t actually ours to carry; I needed to see nature in a different way (especially as I have a special connection with plants) ... so it was natures way of moving me towards my real calling.
But dear me did I have some encounters; spiders landing on me in a car (I mean talk about hunting me down!), finding one in my bed while changing the bed sheets (a living nightmare), having one on my dressing gown and my grandma hitting me so hard to get it off without me knowing, I nearly had a heart attack!!, a jungle spider falling from the ceiling in a friend’s house in Sri Lanka (we just hoped it didn’t jump), having a chat with friends on a park bench and the spider decided to come for a ride on the blanket I had wrapped around me (ahhhhh), and seeing a tarantula in Bali in the mirror whilst cleaning my teeth (jesus christ!)..these were probably the highlights.
Funnily enough, touch wood, I don't get these extreme encounters anymore with spiders, because I believe my fear has lowered and its not something that hinders me in life anymore...ill happily look at the markings of spiders now and see their beauty.

Spiders and Ladybugs
Ladybugs has always been something I looked out for as a child because we always liked to count the number of spots on them, apparently this determines the age of the ladybug or so we were told.
Ladybugs symbolise luck, protection and good fortune. They normally come along when there is a good positive change on the horizon.
Spiders symbolise interconnectedness, fated relationships, creativity and the importance of patience. Patience in particular is definitely something, in the past, I had a battle with. But today I am much better and enjoy understanding the benefit of little by little, bit by bit and allowing things to unfold as you build. I personally just need to celebrate each little moment!

Scarab Beetles and a Praying Mantis
Over the last two weeks I have had a number of random encounters with insects and so felt it appropriate to talk about them.
The other night I did an inner child meditation with Maz Dela Cerna and right after the session a giant scarab beetle flew into the window and fell onto his back onto the floor. I picked him up with a spoon and put him on a plant. 1 hour before meditation a praying mantis was sat on the pillows outside my bedroom and turned his head at me.
Scarab beetles in Ancient Egyptrepresent transformation and rebirth, and align with manifestations. They were worn as an amulet in jewellery, you can see them in head pieces, necklaces and bracelets.
A Praying Mantis suggests I should slow down and wait for more a precise moment to move rather than jumping at opportunities.

Dragonflies
Over a week ago I did a three day immersive clearing meditation with the Monad society and after the first meditation I woke up and went downstairs to have a blue dragonfly fly into me and then he stayed with me until I left the building. On leaving the building I opened the front door and there was a green and black dragonfly on the floor and then when I went up the road and followed a birds flight to the rice fields (as it looked so beautiful), right by my foot was a red dragonfly!!!
It felt like a very aligned and poignant moment.
Dragonflies represent in some cultures the souls of those who have passed... recently my grandma passed and I feel the blue one was her.
Red dragonflies symbolise passion, love, power.
Black dragonflies symbolise a connection to the subconscious mind and a time to uncover mysteries.
Blue dragonflies can symbolise loyalty and remembrance.

Grasshoppers
Previous encounters
In 2021 I had a job in Abu Dhabi I absolutely hated, there was no structure and there was no respect for what I could do, accept from the ladies who worked in the humanitarian section. I liked checking their presentations, editing their English, giving them advise on ideas and doing some charitable events for Emirates Red Cross.
The job paid extremely well but every day I felt like my soul was dying little by little and I just couldn’t cope with pretence of managing that the manager had.. there was no thought behind anything that was being down, the person just clearly didn’t want to be working anymore.
I had been offered another year’s contract with the company but should I take it? I had struggled to make ends meet for the three years before so there seemed some sense in keeping to this role, although I knew I would be unhappy. So I did my prayers and asked that if I leave this job will something else come up…. The next morning I go to my car to drive 1 hour to work as I always do and as I open the glass door to the exit, a giant luminous green grasshopper is staring at me in the face…. At first I thought it was a kids toy it was so big and bright, and secondly it didn’t make any sense to be there because it was the middle of summer where no bugs can even survive the heat… you don’t even get mosquitos or flies it’s so hot! Let alone a grasshopper…. Which I didn’t even know was native to the UAE.
The funny thing is I had almost forgot about my prayer the night before and go into the car just thinking it was a strange encounter… not putting two and two together as yet.
But when I was at work, I suddenly remembered and googled what a grasshopper could symbolise. Low and behold it said, “take a leap of faith” . And in that moment I sent an email to the boss stating that I am grateful for the offer but I wouldn’t be renewing my contract.
Within that week I had an email on LinkedIn asking if I was available for an interview for a job in Dubai (which I wanted (rather than in Abu Dhabi)) .Needless to say I got the job and started a few weeks later.
What about you?
Have you ever experienced any encounters that you believe are from above?
Have there been any poignant moments when you remember these encounters in particular, maybe deciding your next steps?
I would love to hear about them.
