Questioning spiritual logic
This week I've been chatting to a lovely lady, who is a psychic amongst many other talents, and I asked her for some help on one particular area of my life, but the response I received really made me question a lot of my beliefs and especially my approach towards my soul evolution.
She spoke to her spiritual mentor about my query because she wanted further confirmation and what came back was that I needed to make a donation to shift the energy…. hmmm, now on a practical logical level that didn't make any sense because it felt like I was buying my way out of the problem, instead of actually understanding the problem to move forward. Aside from the fact, I felt like I was a tourist being lured into a false sense of security and I’m someone who donates regularly, so why THIS answer.
When I shared my concerns to her about this “investment”, she came back to me saying that in different cultures there are different ways of approaching situations and this particular spiritual mentor is from Indonesia and that their approach towards upgrading of the spirit/ evolution of the soul is very different to in the west. What she meant was that in the west we want to know the answer by mentally dissecting the idea, working with the subconscious mind to change the situation accordingly, practically, systematically and logically, so that we don’t repeat a cycle, but in the east it’s all about shifting the energy. If you're familiar with Reiki and energy healing you know that through these healing modalities, we can shift our energy to free any heaviness, any negativity or redirect anything that's hindering us into something more positive, but how it’s done there isn’t a real answer… just proof in the pudding (the fact that it works).
I had a real concern and resistance to this answer of “she needs to donate” because my brain was like, I’ve donated so much in my life – various volunteer work, events creations and fundraising for charities, working for exchange and giving without the need for return; I donate all the time. So why is this the answer? It did not logically make sense. Was I being led into some scam?

What is a real spiritual upgrade
My approach towards spiritual upgrades is that I like to know what I’m doing wrong so I can correct it and not make the same mistake again. This “just donate” approach just seemed like I was buying my way out of the problem rather than actually dealing with it, it felt like spiritual bypassing or a get out of jail free card without having done any work.
This just felt very very odd, wrong or was it just unfamiliar territory to me?
It made me think about other forms of healing I have encountered whereby there wasn’t really an answer being laid on the plate, just an automatic change to the situation once id encountered or participated in it. These include cleansing water ceremonies, meditative energy healing, hypnosis, sound healing, RTT therapy, chakra therapy. I’ve trusted these approaches, I’ve gained good results from them, and I’ve never seen them as a bypassing, in fact I felt they were helpful and important. Why did I feel that is offering of a donation wasn’t the same?
It made me also reflect on my thoughts about psychedelics too, a healing modality that can also have instant results (so I’ve heard) but it’s just not a path I have ever believed in taking for a number of reasons – plants need respect and not to be taken on a whim, most psychedelics have hallucinogenic properties that are created by the body going into a state of shock or near death experience … to me that is not healing that is your bodies way of trying to not die! The side effects being that you forget the problem you came to overcome after because the plant journey took you to an altered state of reality. Ever had a really high fever and started seeing things or having nightmares? Ever been so absorbed in something you’ve forgotten about your problems? Ever hit your head so bad you lost some memory?
For me plants are sacred, some are for internal, some for external use and some just to be meditated on.
I concluded that I don’t want someone to take my pain away without me knowing why or what is causing it in me to begin with, because how can I learn the lesson otherwise?
My friend in question further responded to me stating that you are making an investment into your upgrade, the ego is only trying to create a story.
I can go to a reiki session, an energy healer or a psychic for advice and have an explanation and yet I can feel satisfied with that, but to give a donation and just trust it will change things I can’t?
Logically I can see a point. Could this be a trust issue? But yet this still wasn’t the point.

Astrological timelines
I work with soul timelines because of Astrology. Within a birth chart you can see your highest timeline and the things you need to overcome in this lifetime to reach that point. I considered then that maybe each moment of healing investment - the cacao ceremony, the magic mushrooms, the reiki session to the cognitive behaviour therapy, NLP and hypnosis was all part of your timeline. The investments you chose to make to make the next step forward in this lifetime, and because everybody’s timeline is different, everyone will make different investments. Neither are better or worse than another.
A higher force of nature
I mean, if I hadn’t got to the point of exploration, I wouldn’t have met this lady and in turn her mentor and then I wouldn’t have got to this next step. Right?
Well not always because what I realised was that we think we are the key to the answers, or that we have been conditioned to believe, but this is just part of our ego. There is a higher force at play, which we can connect with daily by seeing that the earth grows without our intervention and that all we need to do is respect and appreciate it for what it is.
What I realised is that some things need analysation, reflection and understanding but other things need trust, letting go, acceptance. Yin and yang. One can’t exist without the other. In either case we are shifting the energy, and neither is better or worse, good or bad. They are as they are. In that moment. Without our control.
The donation
So will I make the donation or not?
Can I trust what is to become?
Am I ready for my next spiritual upgrade?
Only time will tell.
But whatever I decide, it’s part of my story, the one I may have believed I have created or that which has been created for me, it’s the investment I chose to make, or the one that I was guided to……and nobody else’s.
